Hiking in the Cirque de Lescun: an adventure in the heart of the Pyrenean mountains
On November 10, 2021, I hiked in the Cirque de Lescun. It was a pleasant outing, a quiet moment in the mountains.
By the way, what is a cirque in the mountains? Let’s see what Wikipedia says.
A cirque is a natural amphitheater with steep walls, circular or semi-circular in shape, formed by a depression of glacial origin, in which case it is a glacial cirque, or volcanic as on La Reunion, or formed by karst erosion, in which case it is a makhtesh. Wikipedia
Now that everyone knows what it is, here are a few photos and an anecdote from this outing.

During my first outing to the Col d’Aubisque I fell four times. After that, I bought Merrell hiking shoes, with Vibram soles and GORE-TEX technology. Needless to say, the hiking experience was not the same.
