Haize Project RT 38
Is Haize Project releasing one bag too many? Let us take a look.
At first, when I became interested in Haize through crowdfunding, I was drawn to the initial promise: one modular backpack to do everything well. So when the brand now announces a tenth reference in its catalog, I wonder whether the original idea has not been slightly lost along the way.

Why do I use a backpack every day?
I come back to my own use: why do I have a backpack? If I cannot imagine going out without one, it is because I always keep the same base kit inside: rain jacket, down jacket, camera, water, papers and car keys. Practical and comfortable. I like the idea of being able to add whatever I want during the day without ever lacking space. That is why I bought the Backpack 0.0. I also really liked the idea of being able to attach a hiking waistbelt at any time and head out for one or two days in the mountains.
Clamshell? Lack of space?
Then, when Haize released a Clamshell version of this backpack, compatible with all my Backpack 0.0 accessories: happiness. I like rolltops, it is true. But that opening is not my favorite because it can lack practicality in daily use. Especially when I need to dig deep into my backpack for a pouch, my microphone, the drone or whatever else. When it was announced, I immediately switched and used the Clamshell every day. So far, so good.
But what a surprise when Haize sent me a HUGE 38 to 45 L rolltop bag. At first, I thought: “What for? I will never use it.”
Haize Project offers you 15% off with the code ODIN3000 for any order over 100 euros.

Finally…
Finally, this bag absolutely has its place in the range. Let me explain. Before, when I had to go out with the Clamshell, or the 0.0, with all its accessories, which add quite a bit of volume, I can now take only the RT38 and fit: my sleeping bag, my tent, my personal belongings, my two cameras, cooking gear and food for two or three days. AND I can keep going by adding the Extra Pack for my shoes, for example, where before I put all the cooking gear. In fact, this is clearly not an everyday bag for everyone. I do not even know why I expected that from this backpack. In reality, it is a true travel bag, a suitcase on your back. There is even a handle on each side of the bag so it can be carried easily by hand. It has ultimately become the backpack I use for longer mountain outings or hiking in Brittany.

Haize is not wrong
In my opinion, Haize is clearly continuing in the right direction with its backpack range. Whether with the Backpack 0.0 or the Clamshell, depending on your preferences, you have a perfect everyday backpack. Add a Waistbelt hiking belt and you are ready for several days of walking. Remove all the accessories and you have an all-purpose bag. Want to leave for a week? Complete your setup by buying a nice big RT38.
And Haize? When will there be an ultra-light mountain bag, for when I want to walk 34 km in a day and not worry about the weight of my bag? Forget the waterproof side, your Rainfly does the job so well. Quick, a featherweight bag to finish completing a range that, in my eyes, is almost perfect.
Conclusion
It comes out tonight. On preorder on the Haize Project website, enjoy 15% off during preorder and an additional 5% off with the code ODINEXTRA5.
Kisses.
