Editorial - September 1, 2024
Here we are in one of my favorite periods of the year, the beginning of the end of summer. August is over and all the places I like to visit will return to their usual rhythm. I always feel that in the photographs. I struggle with the mountains in July and August; they are too crowded for my taste. Someone I know shared an Instagram story from a night at Lac du Montagnon with no fewer than 23 tents around the lake. Hell. Anyway, welcome to the editorial of September 1, 2024.
The articles are coming back, okay ;)
I have not been very productive in writing lately. I have actually written a few articles, but all of them stayed in draft. One talks about my new experience with the Leica Q3. Another about my new experience in snow and snowshoes at Hautacam, then one about a two-day outing to sleep at Lac d’Ayous this winter. I even have an article titled “Already March?” I think that one will never come out, or maybe with another title. In it I talk about my stay in Brittany and meeting Yannick, Cloe and their children. So yes, the articles are coming back.
Failure
It has been a year and a half since Eala, my dog, left us. I adopted a young dog in Brittany during my stay. Three months later, I realized it was too early for me to adopt another being, so I entrusted her to friends who wanted exactly that breed of dog. I am very happy for them and for her, even if I still experience it as a failure on my part. I did not think losing a being so close to me could affect my photographic work and my approach to so many things around me so deeply.
End of vanlife
It has been three years since I lived in a camper van. After touring France a few times, although I absolutely still need to visit Franche-Comte, I decided to sell the camper van and settle in the Pyrenees, as much for the mountains, photography, restarting the YouTube channel, as for the fact that it is close to so many friendships I made during those three years on the road. I am impatient to finally be settled and able to focus on photography.
I will leave you with a few photographs
